They Started Renewing Rainbow Street!
Yea, they started yesterday renewing Rainbow St. (in Jabal Amman).. While I was heading to my workplace, I found them closing the street and forbidding the cars from passing through it.. They started the campaign of renewing they announced about months ago.. The government's mentioned that they'll make the Rainbow St. a touristic place and there will be no more cars passing through it.. They have some nice ideas for the new street .. they will pave the whole street and place some seats for setting and they'll add a big wide screen for playing the old movies and the documentary videos about old Amman.. the big wide screen will be placed on the big building that contains the famous Rainbow Market.. they'll renew the buildings too and they'll make the appearance of the street more beautiful.. I read that it will take 3 months to complete this campaign and some says that it will be ready in the beginning of the new year 2008.. I think this would be more better for the street.. And it will increase the incomes of the shops owner in the street.. and the people will spend more beautiful time walking around.. 'cause there will be more cafes (more than the ones we already have) and there'll be many wonderful events around the year.. like JARA Market we already have.. For the people who don't know Jabal Amman! Jabal Amman is a very beautiful place which has so many good places to visit.. and it's a quite area at the night.. you'll love walking around the place especially at night..
Jabal Amman consists of 4 circles (some says the 5th circle is included) but you'll find the real Jabal Amman spirit beginning from the 4th circle and down to 1st circle.. Many famous and wealthy hotels in there like Le Royal, Intercontinental Jordan, Hyatt and more... The 1st palace of the late King Al-Hussein is located in Rainbow St. near to Jordan River Foundation and Mango Palace.
The people of Jabal Amman is so nice and friendly and you'll be welcomed anytime you visit us to discover the places of Jabal Amman :) ..
Well! I seized the chance to take some pictures for the working place and the current situation of the street.
