They Started Renewing Rainbow Street!

Yea, they started yesterday renewing Rainbow St. (in Jabal Amman).. While I was heading to my workplace, I found them closing the street and forbidding the cars from passing through it.. They started the campaign of renewing they announced about months ago.. The government's mentioned that they'll make the Rainbow St. a touristic place and there will be no more cars passing through it.. They have some nice ideas for the new street .. they will pave the whole street and place some seats for setting and they'll add a big wide screen for playing the old movies and the documentary videos about old Amman.. the big wide screen will be placed on the big building that contains the famous Rainbow Market.. they'll renew the buildings too and they'll make the appearance of the street more beautiful.. I read that it will take 3 months to complete this campaign and some says that it will be ready in the beginning of the new year 2008.. I think this would be more better for the street.. And it will increase the incomes of the shops owner in the street.. and the people will spend more beautiful time walking around.. 'cause there will be more cafes (more than the ones we already have) and there'll be many wonderful events around the year.. like JARA Market we already have.. For the people who don't know Jabal Amman! Jabal Amman is a very beautiful place which has so many good places to visit.. and it's a quite area at the night.. you'll love walking around the place especially at night..

Jabal Amman consists of 4 circles (some says the 5th circle is included) but you'll find the real Jabal Amman spirit beginning from the 4th circle and down to 1st circle.. Many famous and wealthy hotels in there like
Le Royal, Intercontinental Jordan, Hyatt and more... The 1st palace of the late King Al-Hussein is located in Rainbow St. near to Jordan River Foundation and Mango Palace.

The people of Jabal Amman is so nice and friendly and you'll be welcomed anytime you visit us to discover the places of Jabal Amman :) ..

Well! I seized the chance to take some pictures for the working place and the current situation of the street.

What a silly advertisement ideas they have!!

I've noticed that the new ads campaign of Bank of Jordan is so silly and makes no sense at all!! I'm sure that the marketing department they got there is so limited with the creative advertisement ideas so they applies such new advertisement campaign!! I just wanna know if this useless advertisements will bring any body's attention for the services of the bank, it will only bring the minds to think about the much of stupidity the marketing department has inside in the bank!

All the new ads in this campaign are telling that we have in Jordan very silly concerns and we have no worries but to make the color of our cars compatible with our shirts!! or any other useless concerns! I felt that the people of Jordan left all the life worries behind them and went to follow such silly worries! Wake up guys!! We have here in Jordan many families are searching for food and for a place to sleep safely! and only a little part of community who are the same of your silly guys in the ads!! So I'm telling the marketing department to find another marketing idea for a well-known bank in Jordan, 'cause such advertisements show a bad view of the bank in general!

The 2nd Day of AmmanNet's Broadcast Training Course ..

Today was the 2nd day of
AmmanNet's Broadcast Training Course .. This day was a-full-of-work-day .. We had many things to do .. At first we got separated into groups .. I was in group #6 (My bad luck!) .. Every group had a task of creating a radio program, there were no specific topics! so we can choose any topic we want .. I suggested for my group to create a program about blogs, blogging, bloggers, And I was totally SHOCKED when I heard them replying "WHAT'S A BLOG??!" .. I told them never mind I'll tell you what is a Blog! and I started telling them about blogs and blogging .. So they were happy for hearing such a speech .. and they told me "Let's get into the work!" .. We started scaling our ideas about how the program would be! I suggested many ideas such talking about the famous blogs in Jordan, and about hosting a blogger in every episode .. We put everything in points .. And then started writing the starting speech and the conversations we're gonna start in the program, We wrote also about the news of blogs, One hour & half ago .. We were preparing our selves for making our written words a real radio program .. There were some kind of a competition between the groups .. After all groups had presented their programs, We had to vote for the best group .. Group #7 was the 1st winner .. because they really done a great work, We took the 4th rank in the competition (What a shame!) .. Then Mr. Hazem Al-Thalji thanked all the groups for their nice work .. And he gave us some notes to be more better next times .. That was all the important events in this day .. I've took some photos for the activities but I wasn't lucky for having that chance for taking photos .. Anyway today was another beautiful day in my life and I enjoyed it so .. Wait for me for the 3rd day in that course .. Best Wishes ..

The Cog (TV Commercial)

The Cog was a dramatic television commercial for the Honda Accord, made (almost completely) without any CGI or trick photography. It was created in 2003 by the London office of advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy.

The two-minute commercial appears as a single, long camera pan along a Heath Robinson / Rube Goldberg-like chain-reaction arrangement of parts from the car but is in fact two stitched together, the join being at the moment where the muffler/exhaust box rolls across the floor (this can be seen by watching the floor pattern change). The commercial took 606 different takes to complete, and only minuscule CGI was used, simply for fixing the lighting on the final car's window. The cars featured, one disassembled for the pieces and the other on the trailer, were two of the six hand-built pre-mass production Accords.

The sequence starts with a transmission bearing rolling into a synchro hub. This sets off a cascade of movement; windscreen wipers 'walk' across the floor, valves roll down a bonnet and carefully weighted tyres roll uphill. The commercial ends when the central locking on a complete Accord is triggered, causing the boot to close, tipping the car off a balanced trailer and into a final pose in front of the camera. The voice of US author Garrison Keillor queries "Isn't it nice... when things just... work?", while the song "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang plays in the background.

The version of the advertisement that originally aired in Australia had an alternate ending that replaces the keyless-entry remote with a seatbelt retractor, which retracts toward the car and allows it to roll forward instead of the boot offsetting the balancing of the ramp. (This version of the ad began at the point where the exhaust muffler rolls across the floor.)

According to Snopes, "in May 2003, filmmakers Peter Fischli and David Weiss threatened legal action against Honda over similarities between the Cog commercial and The Way Things Go, a 30-minute film they produced in 1987 involving '100 feet of physical interactions, chemical reactions, and precisely crafted chaos worthy of Rube Goldberg or Alfred Hitchcock.'"

In 2006, Honda UK continued the crafted theme with a new advertisement for their Civic using a choir as Foley artists.

Wild Jordan - a city retreat for nature lovers

Good evening,

I'm back with the 2nd episode of my series: "If you were in Jabal Amman, You have to see!",

Today was a shiny day so I was happy all the time .. And I wanted this episode to be an excellent and exciting one, I changed my clothes & took my K800i phone & headed directly to Wild Jordan, It’s about 500 meters far of my house .. So I walked to there and once I arrived I asked the Reception girl if it’s possible to take snapshots for the place & take some brochures to prepare my review .. She was so hospitable with me and told that I can photograph all the place except the nature shop .. I thanked her & started my journey in the place .. I opened the lens cover of my phone’s camera and start taking snapshots for many interesting features there .. After about 20 minutes of walking and taking snapshots I took two brochures and thanked the staff there then I left the place heading to my home .. I’ve quoted some information about the center from the brochures for you and here they’re:

What is it?

A revolutionary center devoted to promoting Jordan’s natural heritage, where you can help to save Jordan’s wildlife and wild places without leaving the city.

A place with stunning views of old Amman, fascinating architecture and unique shopping & eating experiences.

What does it offer?

The biggest nature shop in the region.

An amazing café with electric views.

Environmental internet.

Tourist information to show you how to visit Jordan’s natural treasures.

Fully equipped conference & training rooms.

A building with environment friendly credentials.

A chance to help nature without leaving the city.

Where is it?

Wild Jordan is in Jebel Amman, one of capital’s oldest neighborhoods. It will be a hub for those who want to know more about the city’s history and explore its old areas.

Perched high above the old city, it is one of the few locations that offers panoramic views across the Umayyad and Roman ruins of Jeb el Qala. It is also a brilliant place to see the famous Jordan flag.

It can be reached via Rainbow Street from First Circle as shown on the map.

Who has created Wild Jordan?

Wild Jordan is the vision of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), a non-governmental organization devoted to the care and protection of Jordan’s natural heritage. The Society was created in 1966 under the patronage of His Majesty, the late King Hussein, Its work is focused on the establishment of protected areas (nature reserves), enforcement of wildlife protection laws, socioeconomic development and environmental research and education.
